Sophomore Biological Sciences and Spanish Major; Pre-Physicians Assistant
I am a sophomore Biological Sciences and Spanish double major, working on a pre-physician assistant program. Going to school seven hours away from home was a little scary at first. But now I know I made the best decision by coming to Nebraska. My advisors are always available and willing to talk to me about my classes and programs. They know what I need do to make myself competitive for the physician assistant schools I want to attend.
I was given the opportunity to go to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha to shadow a PA student for the afternoon. This was such a great eye-opening experience; sitting through a lecture really showed me the rigor and difficulty of the physician assistant program. The student I shadowed was a UNL graduate, and she was confident and able to handle the rigor of her classes.
I feel like I am getting the education I need to be prepared for physician assistant school. Nebraska has the resources and people to ensure my academic success.
