Pre-Health Orientation
Geared toward new UNL pre-health students, this session will provide an overview of what it means to be a
pre-health student and discuss questions like: How do I find out what courses I need to take for my prehealth
area and how do I plan when to take them? How do I explore different areas of pre-health? How can
my co-curricular experiences enhance my application? And much more! Attend the session that fits your
schedule best.

MCAT Workshop
The MCAT is an important part of your application to medical school. We’ll review the content of the exam, discuss considerations for when to take it, and share preparation strategies and resources.

GRE Preparation for Health School Applications
If the GRE is required for admission to your professional health program, join us for a one-hour overview of the exam. We will cover the format of the GRE, outline timelines for studying for and taking the exam, and share helpful resources and advice on preparing to take the GRE.

Gap Year for Pre-Health Students
If you have considered taking a gap year before starting your professional health program but have questions, this workshop is for you. At this workshop, we will discuss many aspects of the gap year, including what to do during your gap year(s), why you might consider taking a gap year, and what important questions you may want to start researching now to make sure your gap year helps you accomplish your career goals.

Applying to Health Schools 101
Are you planning to apply to a professional health school in the next couple of years? Even if you are in your first or second year of college, it is important that you learn about the steps in the application process and what you can do now to prepare to submit your best application. This workshop will not cover information about applying to nursing school, radiography programs, or dental hygiene programs.

Budgeting, Financing, and Researching Health School
Education
Deciding where to go for your health professions education and how much you would like to spend on that education is a process that requires time and research. Jump start your planning efforts by attending this workshop to gain valuable tools and insight you can use to strategize where to apply to professional school and how to apply efficiently and save money in the process. This session will also help you to start thinking about how you can prepare financially for your advanced education and learn about programs available to help you pay for your health school educational costs.

UNMC Nursing Application Session
UNMC's Student Services Coordinator will provide a detailed overview of the sections of the application for
UNMC's nursing program. If you are applying to UNMC this fall/winter, this workshop is your opportunity to
ask questions about how to complete the application.
